Children’s Ministry at Holy Spirit is a big part of our community.
We have programming for family friendly activities throughout the year and work to engage our children in leadership in all areas of our community.
Whenever possible on the first Sunday of the month, our Sunday School helps to lead an intergenerational worship service. Our kids read, do dramas and special music, and assist in all our rostered roles. We partner up veterans at their craft and ask them to shepherd the kids into these roles, like greeters, ushers, even altar guild. These services aren’t perfect, there are hiccups along the way, but as we worship, we laugh and wonder together about being a community of children gathered around the feet of Jesus.
Church Family Nights
Our junior youth group has gone by many names over the past ten years: the crusaders, falcons, junior youth, JYAM, etc. We’re trying a new thing now as we invite out families of all shapes and sizes to join us around an activity we can all share in. Crafting, games, gardening, singing – all skill levels welcome. As we put our gifts to use we learn how we are a community joined together in vision, in experimentation and growing. Our Grades 3-6 kids help create and drive the programming but all are welcome!
We offer Sunday School at the both the 9:15 am and 11:00 am services for children ages 4-12 or up to Grade 6. After joining the start of the church service and participating in the Children's Story with the pastor, we invite them to the Sunday School rooms for class during the rest of the service.
Nursery care is available during both services for children ages 3 or under.
Vacation Bible School
Each summer features a week of smiles and fun as we present Vacation Bible Camp in July.
