Adult Ministry

Adult Education has been an important, ongoing component in the life of Holy Spirit.  Various groups continue to meet including the Ladies' Bible Study, Men’s Bible Study, and Monday Evening Study.  Periodically we join for baptismal preparation, wedding preparation, and new member classes too! Sometimes we’ve undertaken expected topics and sometimes we’ve ventured out into leading edge studies.  Most importantly, we hope to encourage our members and friends to grow through learning!  Be encouraged to check out what is currently being offered!

Ladies' Morning Bible Study

Join the women of the parish at Shirley E.’s home on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month from 9:30 till Noon. All ladies of the church are welcome to share in this time of fellowship. Coffee is provided. Contact the church at 780.434.4012 for more information or drop in for the next study.

Men's Breakfast

A group of men of uncertain age meet for breakfast every other Thursday at 8.00am at the ABC Restaurant at the north end of the Holiday Inn (formerly Greenwood Inn) at 4485 Gateway Blvd.  There's a private room to conceal the laughter. The cost is $10.00 which includes tip and coffee. A good time is had by all.  All men are welcome.

Men's Fellowship

Meet at the church library on alternative Thursdays starting at 9:00 am. We have coffee and take turns bringing unhealthy but delicious goodies. We visit till 9:30 and then look at the next Sunday's Bible readings till 10:30 am. The level of discussion is wise and witty with all questions and comments acceptable. All men are welcome.

Adult Book Study

This fall we will be reading Diana Butler Bass' book Christianty after Religion: The End of Church and the Birth of a New Spiritual Awakening.  Participants will meet at the church on Monday nights at 7:00 pm, beginning October 6. Classes will continue October 20, 27, November 3, 17, 24, January 19, 26, and February 2.

Adult Study

This program tends to be leading edge studies of what is new and interesting in Church and Bible research, often following a curriculum called Living the Questions. On February 23, we will begin a DVD series on Islam featuring Muslim and Christian scholars. We'll meet on Monday nights in March at 7:00 pm (with the exception of March 9.) For further information you could call the church office at 780-434-4012.
