Joining congregations across the country in Canada Lutheran World Relief's Friends of Creation campaign, our HSLC Sunday School has pledged to sponsor restorative work in the Chad Lake Basin!
Located in West-Central Africa at the junction of Chad, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Niger, Lake Chad has dramatically shrunk due to a changing climate and overuse of natural resources, putting tremendous strain on the local people, environment, and economy. CLWR is involved in projects restoring degraded land in the lake basin, working to heal the land and all it provides to its vulnerable population. Thanks to government matching, restorative work can be completed at a cost of only $50 per acre. HSLC Sunday School's goal is to sponsor 60 acres at a total cost of $3000, and they need your help to achieve this goal by the end of the year!
