The next Synod of Alberta and the Territories area gathering will take place at Grace Lutheran Church in Wetaskiwin on May 9th! Holy Spirit usually has a large and vibrant presence at these gatherings, but our Church council will be in a learning retreat on that day — so we're calling on the congregation to make our presence known!

Description from the ABT Synod:
Rev. Dr. Bill Harrison will lead workshops focusing on conversations about the numbers situation and its relation to society (hint: all voluntary organizations are shrinking). This will be followed by brief small group discussions about the impact of declining numbers.
He will discuss the traditional emphasis on numbers and introduce a new way of thinking about the good news and the church, based on four kinds of transformation.
He will also introduce a tool called “A Gospel Vision Statement,” which helps church organizations assess their real capacities and possibilities and reimagine themselves.
