Who and Where We Are

Our Congregation

Holy Spirit Lutheran Church is a diverse and growing parish community in southwest Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We seek to be a hospitable place for poor and rich, gay and straight, life-long Christians and newcomers to the faith. And we strive to serve the people of our neighbourhood as well as Edmonton’s inner city.

Holy Spirit was organized in 1964 as a congregation of the Synod of Alberta and the Territories, Northern Conference, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC). The ELCIC, in turn, holds membership in the Lutheran World Federation, the Canadian Council of Churches, and the World
Council of Churches.

Since 2008 Holy Spirit has been a Reconciling in Christ congregation. Since 2009 we have also been an accredited Greening Congregation under the ELCIC's Stewardship of Creation program.

Holy Spirit Lutheran Church is located at 11223 – 51 Ave., Edmonton, just west of the Southgate LRT Station.
